LEAD

Leadership Excellence - Accelerated Development

The high value, low cost solution for developing mid-level managers

A special opportunity for your most high potential manager

What is LEAD?

Over the course of nine months, high performing, mid-level managers from different organizations meet, in person, for an intensive leadership development experience.  This is not a series of training workshops – this is a program designed for real and sustainable development, through peer coaching, individual coaching, knowledge sharing, skill building, assessments and assignments.

The LEAD program consists of both group meetings and individual coaching sessions, facilitated by experienced and certified leadership coaches.  The group, comprised of fifteen managers from different organizations and industries, meets monthly for a half day.  Participants work on real life challenges and will practice newly-learned skills gained through the support of peers, the expertise of the coach facilitators, custom assessments, and management toolkits.   Individuals will develop solutions to real-life issues and will be expected to integrate their learnings back at work to support and deepen their own leadership.

Why this format?

Research shows most development happens on-the-job.  In fact, it is the actual job challenge that creates development. Mid-level managers have tough jobs and they typically don’t have the opportunity to process or reflect on what they are learning and how to build on it.

This community learning taps into the way development happens: by providing guidance, structure and support to enhance on-the-job learning.   These managers will now have a place to reflect on their work challenges, in a confidential and trusting environment of other high performing peers, led by leadership development coaches.

By going through this program, they will be more confident, effective and versatile leaders.

The LEAD Program components include:

  • 360°, personality, and leadership assessments, interpreted by the coach facilitators
  • A customized long-range development plan
  • Monthly half-day sessions to learn and practice new management skills based on real-life challenges
  • Peer coaching with other high performing managers
  • Four individual telephone sessions with the coach facilitators
  • Tools for follow-up to ensure sustainable progress

Who Can Join?

Each organization may nominate 1 person who meets the following criteria:

  • High performer
  • High potential (has the potential to grow in their leadership capacity in their organization)
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience
  • Proactive in their own development (motivated to learn and open to feedback)

When will these be held and what is the cost?

Nine in-person, monthly meetings will be held from January – November with a summer break during July and August.  During the summer months, participants will have specific learning and reflection assignments.

The monthly meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to noon at Insight’s Dedham, MA office.  The cost for the entire program, including the nine half-day sessions, 4 one-hour telephone coaching calls, and all leadership tools and assessments is $5,200 per person.
